We have flute sounds wafting through the house each weekday before school. Josie is trying something new. I have to say I was concerned the first two weeks when she could barely get a sound out of the thing - then all of a sudden I came downstairs to her playing a "real" song. She had two years of piano so this gives her a head start with the music part of it, and she just has to work extra hard at figuring the flute out to catch up with the others since her schedule wouldn't allow her to take beginning band!
Brody finally had his first day of preschool!!!! He had to wait a month longer than all the other kids in our house. The wait made him a little apprehensive - what with mom and
Kellen being left at home alone when he is at school. I signed him up to bring the snack then let him pick out puddings to bring just in case he didn't want to get out of the car when we actually got there. (terrible parenting to use food I know!)
Brody shot this picture after I was done doing some school pictures of the kids. I had to put it in because I was in shock that it is actually kinda good. I have always thought that Emmie resembles my look more, and I see it in our profiles especially. Love you Emmie :)! Brody nice picture - maybe you'll be a famous photographer instead of a firefighter.

I was so lucky to catch this great moment in time -Perry and her friends going to their first high school football game as Freshman. Go Broncos!!!!!!!!
Labor Day at Castle Park was so fun. Only an hour away to get to Nana's house, and it seems like we are on a fancy vacation -swimming in the pool, eating amazing food, playing games, watching games, walking across the street to the most amazing park ever. Every time we go, I think why do we bother with other vacations?! (Davin was absent from the photos because he decided to read for English class and participate in the watching games part of the vacation day!)

OK so this is a terrible (sorry josie, the composition and lighting are all wrong :)!) picture Josie took with the "little camera" because she likes to take pictures now and wants her own camera for her birthday. I am posting it since this is our family journal, and I want my children in years to come to see what they have done to me! I am tired, wrinkled, old, and extremely flat chested thanks to sleepless nights, endless worry, and lots of nursing! Now here is the important thing I want you to remember - I would do it a million times over! To be in the physical presence of any six of you makes my insides shiver with love. At least my insides are vibrant, beautiful, young, and happy because of you.
Brody Gets a Bed!!!!!!
Brody Gets a Bed!!!!!!
When you are number 5, you don't even notice you are on a mattress on the floor or on a trundle bed for a year - at least until your favorite Uncle Tim brings you a "real" bed.
Brody was so excited to put his bed up and decorate the shelves with some of his favorite things, and I was so excited that the Wertners were getting rid of a bed.
