Fathers Day

The kids love their dad. They know he loves them. I love their dad, and they know that too. It is the strangest thing, but there are moments when I catch him passing the soccer ball around with someone or helping a 3 year old try to catch a fish in a pond with a net when he knows it just isn't going to happen, or smeared with dirt and sweat from putting a used play set up in the backyard, or hugging a daughter that needs to know her dad thinks she is beautiful, and I find myself thinking my kid's dad is so hot! Our kids definitely have an advantage because of their father's love and support!

My dad is the best. I had an advantage because of his love and support for me. I always felt so proud that he was "my" dad. He is an athlete, scholar, veteran and loves to have fun. As a child he went on field trips, coached teams, helped with homework, took me out on dates and in general was always my buddy. As an adult he has dropped everything for me when I have needed him, and he is still my buddy!

Emmie Elise Guinn - Where has the time gone? Seven years have slipped away while we've been playing and working, singing and dancing, coloring and flying kites. Your mama can't believe it, but I know I have loved holding your hand in mine for a very long time.
I feel so blessed when you wrap your sweet soft arms around my neck. Thank you for bringing your family so much joy and especially for keeping us straight. We would be lost without your help and your smiling dimple! Happy Birthday

My little girl is finished with middle school. She did an amazing job handling academic challenges, social pressures, and still enjoying her journey! We love you Perry and know that you will tackle high school the same way you do everything - with confidence and patience!

This took my breath away as I was driving through the hills of Ramona. I rolled my window down and took this picture that doesn't really show the beauty that was there. In that moment of light I knew there was God and his Son our Savior!

A Summer Evening by Isaac Watts
How fine has the day been! how bright was the sun!
How lovely and joyful the course that he run,
Though he rose in a mist when his race he begun,
and there followed some droppings of rain!
But now the fair traveller's come to the west,
His rays are all gold, and his beauties are best:
He paints the sky gay as he sinks to his rest,
and foretells a bright rising again.

Just such is the Christian; his course he begins,
Like the sun in a mist, when he mourns for his sins,
And melts into tears; then he breaks out and
shines,
And travels his heavenly way:
But when he comes nearer to finish his race,
Like a fine setting sun, he looks richer in grace,
And gives a sure hope, at the end of his days,
Of rising in brighter array.

My beautiful neice with my beautiful mama. Alyssa was driven to her prom date's house with her Nana, Aunt Haley, Mother, sister Brooke, and cousin Perry. I can only imagine what her date and his family must have been thinking. When the people in our family are in need of support, we call in the troops!

The baby! Some may say it is tough to be the youngest - perfect example being dressed as Minnie Mouse. I say it is amazing to be loved and tended to by 5 beautiful brothers and sisters and some devoted cousins as well.
